Your Questions, Answered - Loans

Contact Us
When should I expect to receive my new account information?

Upon contract signing, it can take up to approximately 30 - 60 days for your account number to be created, followed by welcome information and a billing statement.

- Please see the estimated timeline below:
If you have not received any information after this timeframe, please reach out to us at (866) 970-1109

Is there an early payoff penalty?

There are no penalties or fees if you decide to pay off the loan early. To request a payoff quote, please log into your online account here or call (866) 970-1109 to speak with a specialist.

Will I still receive a utility bill after installing solar?

Going solar will reduce your home energy costs, but your solar loan payments will not replace your utility bills. For example, if you have a gas stove or gas heating, you may still receive a gas bill. Additionally, your solar system may not cover all of your electric costs.

Are there loan prepayment penalties?

No. Borrowers only pay for interest that has already accrued. Prepayments get applied to accrued interest first, and then applied to the principal balance.

How can I request account related correspondence?

View and download your billing statement, payment history, a payoff quote letter, and other
correspondence pertaining to your account here.

What if I sell my home?

As a first option, EnFin recommends for the loan to be paid off. However, at times, the new homebuyer may decide to assume the solar loan. The new homebuyer will be required to go through an application process. To inquire about the transfer process, please call (866) 970-1109 to speak with a specialist. Please reach out at least 30 days in advance of closing on your home sale to begin this process.

Does EnFin place a lien on my home?

EnFin does not place a lien on the home. However, EnFin proceeds with a UCC-1 Filing and a County
Fixture Filing, which will reflect on the property’s title. By doing so, this places a security interest on the solar system property in which EnFin has financed.

Refinancing your home mortgage?

If you decide to refinance your home mortgage, please contact us regarding a subordination process. The subordination process allows for EnFin’s security interest on the solar system to be subordinate to the lien on the title of the property upon refinancing. To inquire about the subordination process, please call (866) 970-1109 to speak with a specialist. Please reach out at least 30 days in advance to begin the process.

Am I eligible for the Solar ITC (Investment Tax Credit)?

For information regarding the investment tax credit, please reach out to your tax advisor.
You may be eligible to claim up to 30% of your entire residential solar system cost, as a federal tax return credit. Keep in mind that you will be responsible to make monthly payments starting from your first due date, regardless of if you receive or do not receive a tax credit.

Who is Hatch Bank?

Hatch Bank is EnFin’s chartered financial institution.

Can I apply with a co-applicant?

Yes. We accept up to two applicants per loan, provided that one or both applicants are listed on title to the property where the solar project is being installed.

Does EnFin have a lease program?

EnFin offers residential solar loans and currently does not offer lease options.

Your Questions, Answered -
Levelized PPA

Contact Us
What is a Levelized PPA or Levelized Power Purchase Agreement?

EnFin offers a Levelized Power Purchase Agreement, or Levelized PPA. A Levelized PPA means that you will have a set monthly payment. This payment is based on the “levelized” production, which is calculated by modeling the estimated production of the system over 12 months and dividing it by 12 to find the average monthly production. Reminder: Although the agreement has a set monthly payment, it is not a Lease but a Power Purchase Agreement.

How long is my Levelized Power Purchase Agreement?

25 years.

Can I get a copy of my EnFin solar agreement?

Yes, of course! Once you complete the contract you should receive a copy of the agreement via e-mail. If you are unable to find that email, please contact EnFin and we can e-mail you a copy. Contact information for EnFin can be found on your monthly statement or your agreement.

Will I own the system?

With a Levelized PPA, EnFin is the owner of the system. Our customers pay for the power the system produces via monthly payments.

Will I receive any tax credits, incentives, or rebates for the system?

No, the Owner of the solar panels is eligible to receive tax credits, incentives, or rebates. EnFin is the Owner of the solar system and will receive the tax credits, incentives, or rebates.

Payments
Do I have to pay anything before the system is turned on?

No, with a Levelized PPA you will not have any upfront payments or deposits before the system is turned on.

When will my first payment be due?

Your first payment will be due 30 days after their system has been placed into service. Once the system has been placed into service you will receive a Welcome Email that will have your account number and instructions on how to make payments. We highly advise that you sign up for monthly autopay to avoid system deactivation.

Will my payments change each year?

Yes, they can. Your Solar Agreement may have an escalator. Our agreements have a 0%, 2.99% or a 3.5%yearly escalator. This means that each year your monthly payments will increase by the escalator amount.

How can I make a payment?

EnFin accepts debit card payments and ACH payments. Currently, we do not accept credit card payments. If you choose monthly autopay, there is a small discount to your monthly payment. All details regarding payments can be found in your monthly statement.

Solar Panels and Servicing
What is included in the servicing of my Solar Panels?

EnFin uses a third party vendor, Omnidian, to monitor your system to ensure it is working properly. If our third party sees any problem with the system’s performance or communication they will work with our customers via phone call, text, or email to resolve the issue. If the issue persists after these attempts, we will send out a technician. Repairs, whether warrantied or not, are covered at no additional cost to the customer.

What number do I call to get ahold of Omnidian?

If there is a system issue, Omnidian will reach out to you. However, if you need to call them back or get ahold of them please call us at 1-866-970-1109.

Who services the panels if I buyout the system?

If you choose our Buyout option later in the agreement, you will be responsible for servicing the system.

Do I need to clean my panels?

If anything affects the production of the panels, Omnidian will be notified and will reach out for next steps.

Should I buy insurance for my system?

Yes, Section 5 of your Solar Agreement: Obligations “Carry insurance covering damage to the Home, including damage resulting from the Solar System and not due to the gross negligence of Enfin. It is your responsibility to determine whether the installation of the System will impact your existing coverage and whether additional insurance will be required.” Please discuss expanding your insurance coverage to ensure that it covers your system with your personal insurance professional.

1. Transfer the agreement to the new homeowner
2. If it’s been five years since the system has been placed in service you can buyout the system.
3. Prepay the remaining monthly payments all at once. EnFin will still monitor and own the system, but there will no longer be any monthly payments.
